UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan led Eid Al Adha prayers on Wednesday morning at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. He was accompanied by senior leaders, officials, and numerous worshippers as they gathered to observe the start of the religious festival.
After the prayers, Sheikh Mohamed exchanged traditional Eid greetings with those present, marking the joyous occasion. The Eid sermon, delivered by Dr. Omar Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, highlighted the significance of honesty in fostering trust, national cohesion, and societal stability. Dr. Al Darei also commended the UAE’s leadership for their efforts in strengthening the nation through unity and dedication to national interests.
Joining Sheikh Mohamed at the mosque were several high-ranking UAE officials, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed. Together with the worshippers, they recited Al Fatiha in remembrance of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Throughout the UAE, rulers and senior officials participated in Eid prayers at prominent mosques in various emirates. In Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed attended the service at Zabeel Grand Mosque, while in Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi joined worshippers at Sharjah Mosque. Eid prayers in Ajman saw the attendance of Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi at Al Zaher Palace Mosque, and in Fujairah, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi participated at Sheikh Zayed Mosque.
Additional prayers took place in other emirates, with Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla offering prayers at Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla Mosque in Umm Al Quwain, and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi participating at Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah. These gatherings signaled the beginning of Eid Al Adha celebrations across the nation, drawing thousands to mosques to partake in the festivities.
