In an emphatic start to their Champions Trophy campaign, India triumphed over Bangladesh by six wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
A stunning century anchored India’s chase, with a composed knock of 101 runs off 129 balls. The innings displayed skill and resilience, guiding the team comfortably past the target.
Earlier, the Indian bowling attack put on a masterclass, dismantling Bangladesh’s top order early. A fiery spell from the pacers, complemented by sharp spin, left the opposition struggling at 35 for five. However, a determined middle-order partnership of 154 runs helped Bangladesh recover, with one batter reaching a well-earned hundred and another contributing a gritty 68 off 114 balls. Despite their efforts, India’s disciplined bowling effort ensured Bangladesh was restricted to 228 all out.
The clinical chase saw India reach the target with ease, setting the tone for their tournament run. In another fixture, New Zealand outclassed Pakistan by 60 runs in Karachi.
India will continue their campaign in Dubai, looking to build on this strong start.
