by admin477351

Dubai is set to witness a major infrastructure overhaul as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) embarks on a Dh798 million project to revamp Al Qudra Street. This ambitious initiative is designed to enhance mobility, reduce congestion, and support the city’s rapid urban expansion.

Once completed, the development will slash travel times along Al Qudra Street from 9.4 minutes to just 2.8 minutes, significantly improving connectivity for residents and visitors alike. The project is expected to benefit approximately 400,000 people, easing access to key residential and commercial districts.

A Game-Changer for Dubai’s Road Network
The extensive upgrades will span from the intersection with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, passing through Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and extending up to Emirates Road. The scope of work includes:

2,700 metres of new bridges to streamline traffic flow
11.6 km of road expansion to accommodate rising vehicle numbers
Major interchange enhancements to optimize traffic movement
Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA, emphasized the project’s strategic significance. “This initiative will serve key residential communities such as Arabian Ranches 1 and 2, Dubai Motor City, Dubai Studio City, Akoya, Mudon, DAMAC Hills, and Sustainable City,” he said.

Boosting Safety and Economic Growth
Beyond improving traffic efficiency, the project prioritizes road safety by implementing advanced design standards. It will also fuel economic development in surrounding areas by enabling seamless transportation links.

“The improved infrastructure will facilitate smooth traffic movement on Al Qudra Street towards Emirates Road, providing direct connectivity to Al Qudra City and beyond,” Al Tayer added.

As Dubai continues to expand, this visionary upgrade is set to play a crucial role in shaping the city’s future, reinforcing its reputation for world-class urban planning and transportation infrastructure.
